INGREDIENTS:
For the Cherry Sauce:
450g Cherries, pitted
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
½ tsp Vanilla Extract
For the Grilled Peaches:
4 Ripe Peaches, halved and pitted
2 Tbsp Butter, melted
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
DIRECTIONS:
In a medium saucepan, combine the cherries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the cherries start to break down and release their juices, about 8-10 minutes.
Add the vanilla extract and cook for another minute. Remove from heat and let the sauce cool slightly.
Preheat your braai to medium-high heat (around 200°C).
Brush the cut sides of the peach halves with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar.
Place the peaches cut-side down and cook for 4-6 minutes until they have grill marks and are slightly softened.
Flip the peaches and grill for an additional 3-5 minutes until fully softened.
Transfer to a dish and spoon the cherry sauce over them. Serve and enjoy!
